You mentioned about your 1 year old daughter may have no memory of this event. You may have to wait a few years and will be shock out of your wits when they start talking about it, not because it was mentioned but because she may have actually remembered it. It has happened to so many children I have cared for as well as my own child. She remember an event when she was a year and half old. Mentiond something and I was shocked. Thinking back to a "dream" I had over the years, talking with my sister, and to my shock I recall tonsilitis removal with my brother and sister in hospital...talked with my sister about a nurse what she did to them and me, and it was percisely what happened. I was stunned because I was only 1 1/2 yrs old. So be prepared for that event. =-)

Your entry here touched me. As a beach baby myself (spent every weekend possible there growing up) my mother also was a big lover of the sand and surf and all things beach. Since she passed, it's been bitter-sweet to go there.
This weekend we'll go to Canon Beach and I'm thrilled. Seeing it through my children's eyes is an amazing experience.

Thanks, Gar. Having experienced some of those beach times with you,m I too have some of those memories. And I miss the beach. I was surprised at how much memories it brought to me about hearing about mom....

but very good.

Your openness to experiencing this through her eyes is a beautiful thing. I dare say that all of the years of memories would mean much less without sharing this gift with her. There is also perhaps an even greater fulfillment of wishes in this day with your daughter.

Thank you for sharing this. I will be subscribing and returning and following.
